Guides, market notes and the numbers behind the reserve, written by the people who run it.

Markets
Four-week bills still pay more than one-year bills. What a gently inverted front end means for where we place your cash this month.

Company
Eighteen months after our first sweep, more than 1,400 companies keep part of their runway with us. Here is what they taught us.

Guides
Treasury bills pay no coupon. You buy them at a discount and get the full face value at maturity. Here is the arithmetic, step by step.
11 — Questions
If your question is not here, our treasury team answers the phone on weekdays from 8am to 7pm Eastern.
01
What does Knurla actually do?
We move the cash your business is not using into short-term US Treasury bills held in your company’s name, and move it back the same day you need it. You see every bill and every cent of interest in your dashboard.
02
Is Knurla a bank account?
No. Knurla is not a bank and your reserve is not a deposit. Your cash buys US Treasury bills held at a qualified custodian. Bills are not FDIC insured; they are backed by the full faith and credit of the United States government.
03
How fast can I get my money back?
Withdrawals approved before 2pm Eastern arrive in your verified bank account the same business day. After 2pm they arrive the next morning. There are no lockups or notice periods.
04
Where are my bills held?
At a qualified custodian, in a segregated account titled to your company. Your holdings file lists every CUSIP, face value and maturity date.
05
What happens if Knurla goes out of business?
Your bills stay in your account at the custodian. They are not our assets and cannot be used to pay our debts. You can instruct the custodian directly or move to another adviser.
06
Who can move money out?
Only people you give the approver role, and only to bank accounts you have verified. Anything above your threshold needs a second approver, and every step is written to the audit log.
